1992 Chevy Lumina goes through periods of where it will not start and will die if you try to idle?

1992 3.1 chevy lumina, would turn over but would not stay in an idle. pull up to a stop sign and it dies. anyone any ideas,and if you are just answering to raise your level please dont bother.

      EAsy I have been seeing these question alot lately it’s simpe you may have a vaccum leak see if you hear a hissing sound like sucking second it could be your idle control sensor easy 40 buck two bolt job

      possibly you may need a tune up change the spark plugs and spark plug wires …somthing cud be busted u shud just get it checked out ..

      Have you ever had your fuel filter changed??? If it is plugged or dirty gas will have a hard time getting to your engine……also, go to autozone and have them put a meter on your alternator and see how strong it is…..a weak alternator will sometime start and usually cause your car to die and stall……..driveway mechanic*********
